Sri Lankan cricketers will get pocket a vast bonus of USD 500,000 if they reach the final of the upcoming World Twenty20 in Bangladesh. It will be in addition to USD 500,000 which will be given to the players as participating fee. The decision was taken by Executive Committee of the Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) on Thursday.

This was consequence to player conversation based on a demand to pay them 20 per cent of the income derived from ICC events. The matter was referred yesterday [Wednesday] to the committee for a decision after talks ended inconclusive yesterday.

If the team reached semifinals in the world T20, the players will get USD 250,000. The participating fee for the World Cup 2015, to be held in Australia and New Zealand, would be USD 750,000 while a further 250,000 each are to be paid if the team reached semi final and final.

A bonus of 750,000 awaits if the team won the world cup. The Asia Cup winning team has also been rewarded with a bonus of USD 100,000.
